Anxiety in Children and Strategies - an evening with Gregory Lubimiv

Anxiety is the most common disorder of children (and adults today). It is estimated that 8% to 10% of children suffer from anxiety disorder, but these can increase when stressful events occur. Anxiety can be difficult to assess as it may result in symptoms that look more like ADHD, oppositional behaviour, or acting out behaviours. Participants will have a clear understanding of what anxiety is and how it can appear in different forms for different children at different ages. Participants will also be presented with treatment approaches for theses children as well as strategies which can be used to decrease anxiety and/or develop greater resilience for children and youth in school and at home.
